Making Room at our Table

Building Design

The groundbreaking for our construction project “Making Room at Our Table” was held on September 23, 2012 and construction began October 1, 2012. The building addition, which will connect our church and school, will include a gathering space, handicap-accessible restrooms, fellowship hall, and a kitchen. It will have a brick façade that is the same color as the brick of the school. 

Planning of the enhancement to our parish campus began in 2008 with the Programming and Facilities Evaluation Team (PFET). After determining that a building addition would accommodate the growing ministries and activities of the Church of Saint Joseph, a capital campaign was conducted and funds were raised for the expansion. The theme “Making Room at Our Table” was chosen for the project—these words carry great meaning, both in terms of our Eucharistic table and our parish’s tradition of Benedictine hospitality.

Throughout the planning, design, and construction stages of the project, parishioners have been kept informed through parish meetings, letters, bulletin announcements, and newsletter articles.
