Highlights of St. Joseph Lab School
Your child's education is very important in this ever-competitive world. As you decide what school your child will attend, please take some time to consider the St. Joseph Lab School & Preschool. The following list highlights some of the distinctive offerings at the St. Joseph Lab School:
- Christian Values – Throughout the day students are learning and living their Christian faith. The students are respectful of the teachers and considerate of each other.
- Academic Excellence – Students are held to high academic standards and as a result perform well on standardized tests. Middle school teachers and administrators frequently tell us how recognizable SJLS graduates are due to their outstanding academic preparation and good character.
- Christian Montessori Preschool – SJLS is the only school in the area to offer a Christian Montessori Preschool. The program has an excellent reputation and fills quickly. There are both two-day and three-day options for children ages 3, 4 or 5 years of age. (10 students per session)
- Small Class Sizes – SJLS's average K-6 class size is 20 students. Due to the small class size and the fact that many college students volunteer at SJLS, students receive a lot of individual attention.
- Dedicated Staff – Half of our classroom teachers have their Masters and 2 are currently working towards their advance degrees. They go the extra mile to ensure that each and every student is succeeding.
- Family Centered Atmosphere – Because SJLS is a small and close knit community, school staff, parents, and students know each other well. We welcome and encourage parent involvement.
- Strong Music Program – SJLS has an outstanding, optional band program for fourth through sixth grade students. The music specialist also is excellent which is demonstrated each year at the school's Christmas program that is aired on the local cable channel during the Holidays.
- Extra Curricular Activities – SJLS belongs to Parochial Athletic Association (PAA) which provides the opportunity for student teams to compete against other private schools in boys' football, basketball, and baseball and girls' volleyball, basketball, and softball. SJLS also participates in Knowledge Bowl and Junior Achievement Program.
- After School Care – Daycare services are provided after school until 6:00 and on holidays and teacher workshop days. A licensed teacher heads the program.
- Financial Assistance for K-6 Students – Families who qualify can receive financial assistance for tuition expenses.
