Ministry of Prayer
Ministers of Prayer commit themselves to include the needs of the parish in their daily prayer. A monthly letter with prayers, reflections, thoughts and special needs is distributed to all who participate in this ministry. Ministry to the Sick & Dying The Church of Saint Joseph offers a wide variety of ministries to the sick and the dying. Those unable to attend the community Eucharist can have communion ministers bring the Eucharist to their homes. Those suffering from a serious illness that limits them physically or emotionally can receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. To request this ministry, contact the pastor at 363-7505, ext. 122 or the pastoral minister at 363-7505, ext. 130. Prayer Corner When a family member is in need of prayers, call the parish office at 363-7505, ext. 100 and request that the person be added to the Prayer Corner of the bulletin. In the absence of other instructions, names remain in the Prayer Corner for about two months. Prayer Network The parish’s Prayer Network is a group of parishioners who pray daily for those who are in need of prayers. Call the parish office at 363-7505, ext. 100 and ask to have the person added to the Prayer Network when you or a family member is in need of prayers. Prayer Commitment There are many forms of prayer. Daily Mass, Daily Scripture Reading, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Recitation of the Rosary, and Bible Study are just some of the ways to include prayer in our daily lives. To deepen our relationship with God, we ask all parishioners to make a commitment to pray daily. |
